Our Story

Furnitureland started in 1963 as a joint venture between Doug McDermid and Russ LaRock. The 7,000 square-foot store, located in downtown Pulaski, brought the latest furnishings and home accessories to the people in our community. As our business grew, so did our need for a bigger showroom. In 1973, ten years after our inception, we moved to our current location at 322 E Pulaski Street, which provided us with 17,500 square-feet of display space.

Today, Furnitureland is proud to be a local, family owned and operated business by the McDermid family. While Doug is still involved in daily operations, sons Ken and Pat manage the warehouse and inventory; daughter, Mary, manages the office.

From our start in 1963, we’ve remained true to our original goal of providing our customers and friends with fashionable, quality merchandise at a great value.
